When a Ford technician achieves their 20-Year Senior Master status, they are rewarded with an exclusive experience at the home of Ford Motor Company - Detroit, Michigan. The experience? Motor City Homecoming!
Motor City Homecoming is the experience that the Ford Lincoln Top Techs Rewards Program puts on for all 20-Year Senior Master Technicians. If the technician opts out of taking the Award HQ points, they are almost always happy with their decision.
“When Ford celebrates the technicians, they always go all out, so the experience itself is worth more than the points.”
– Norman Hibbs, 20-year Senior Master Technician at Gentilini Ford, Inc. in Woodbine, New Jersey
The weekend kicked off on Thursday with a welcome dinner on the rooftop of The Godfrey Detroit, where technicians and their guests stayed for the weekend. The evening was filled with music, food, drinks, and dancing. Technicians were also given their 20-Year Senior Master Technician banners throughout the night.
Friday was exclusively for the technicians and their guests to explore the city. Technicians visited the historic Ford Piquette Plant, The Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, The Ford Rouge Factory Tour and stopped at some of the best breweries in downtown Detroit.
The main event of the weekend was getting exclusive access to the iconic Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday! Technicians had breakfast at their hotel before being taken to the Cruise by the provided coach buses.
At the Cruise, technicians enjoyed a private event with food, drinks, and games and were also free to roam down Woodward and take in all the vehicles cruising down the road.
For those local to the Metro-Detroit area, the Woodward Dream Cruise is a tradition, but for our technicians who live all around the country, this is a new experience for them.
20-Year Senior Master Technician Brian Joel and his wife traveled from Oregon and felt lucky to experience the Cruise.
“We’ve never heard about the Cruise, and a lot of people were surprised,” Brian explained. “But being here in person is great!”
Other technicians had heard about the Cruise before and were excited to attend.
“I’m from New Jersey and had heard about the Cruise before, so it’s awesome to see it in person. All the cars are so cool!” said 20-Year Senior Master Technician Richard Furletti.
After a full day of taking in the Woodward Dream Cruise, technicians returned to the Godfrey to freshen up before dinner, drinks, and games at Detroit Axe and The Yard in Corktown!
Overall, the weekend was unforgettable for each of the technicians. The Ford Lincoln Top Techs Rewards program goes above and beyond to help the technicians celebrate their accomplishments.
